Student Placement - Disability Sports Development Assistant (Suitable for Level 5 or 6)

Sport Cardiff's Disability Sports Co-ordinator is looking for a student to support the Cardiff Disability Sports Programme including taking a lead on co-ordinating the Cardiff Met weekly wheelchair basketball sessions. This role is a non-coaching one and includes administrative tasks.

Tasks include:
- Office administration work on campus
- Attending occasional sports events or meetings off campus
- Regularly attending the wheelchair basketball sessions on a Tuesday evening in NIAC
- Ensuring wheelchair basketball equipment is set up ready at the sessions
- Regular communication with the wheelchair basketball coaches of the sessions
- Promoting the wheelchair basketball sessions to students, both disabled and non-disabled
- Raising awareness of disability sports and inclusive sports opportunities across Cardiff Met University and out in the community through various networks including manning the Freshers Fayre information stand, social media etc, poster design etc.
- Arranging friendly games for the student wheelchair basketball team.

This person needs to have good verbal communication skills and a willingness to go out across Cyncoed and Llandaff campus and speak to people about sports opportunities open to them.

As a result of the partnership in place between Sport Cardiff and Cardiff Met's School of Sport please note that priority will be given to students studying sport related degrees at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
